Contemporary management of dental trauma

This workshop will cover aspects of dental trauma in children, which a busy clinician is likely to be faced with in their normal working lives.  The aim of this workshop is to be clinical, practical and interactive.  Case based discussions will be held.   Management of traumatic injuries, but also their consequences and the best way to deal with these will be discussed based on evidence and current best practice.  Pulp management and management of periodontal injuries will be elaborated with the focus not only on acute management but long term treatment planning in order to achieve the best outcome for the child.  Mysteries of root resorption will be unlocked!  Participants will be encouraged to bring along cases from their practices for discussion.  It is hoped that at the end of the workshop participants will be confident enough to go back to their clinics and feel that they are competent to provide best clinical care for children who present with dental trauma.  This should be based on the understanding of the biological basis of the injuries and their consequences.
